Skagway and Seward are two iconic ports of call nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Alaska, each offering a unique glimpse into the region's rich history and natural beauty. Skagway, with its charming streets lined with colorful buildings, serves as a gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, where visitors can step back in time and relive the excitement of the gold rush era. Meanwhile, Seward, situated at the head of Resurrection Bay, boasts stunning views of glaciers and rugged coastline, drawing adventurers with opportunities for wildlife viewing, hiking, and kayaking in the nearby Kenai Fjords National Park. Both ports offer a perfect blend of adventure and history, leaving visitors captivated by Alaska's awe-inspiring wonders.
Rainbow Glacier Adventures' mission is to connect you with Alaska through their high-quality team. They are committed to providing an unforgettable experience and superior service for each and every one of their guests.
Their staff and guides are knowledgeable about the natural and human history of their area and offer great customer service and believe in giving you individualized attention.
Rainbow Glacier Adventures' small groups allow them to provide experiences and visit locations that big bus tours cannot. Their largest vehicle holds 14 guests yet averages 6. Their tour minimum is just 2 guests so, if you are the only couple signed up, your tour won’t cancel!
They are Haines and Skagway specialists, not spread thinly across the state and compose their team primarily of local hires.
Since the team is comprised of locals, they strive to be good community members. Many of their tours involve partnerships with other Haines businesses and they consider the effects of our tours on the local environment that they call home.

The Seavey family arrived in Alaska four years after statehood, and moved to the Seward homestead in the aftermath of the great Alaska Earthquake. Since 1963, they’ve become the preeminent mushing family, winning eight Iditarod races and Mitch holds the Iditarod speed record of 8 days 3 hours 40 minutes and 13 seconds to cover 1049 miles by dog team.
Since 1993, the Seaveys have invited guests to visit their homestead during the off season, providing summer dog sled rides and kennel tours to the public to keep the pups in shape and out of trouble. Check out the tours, and you’ll be helping train the next Iditarod champions!
