Cruising introduces us to the world in a convenient, and immersive way. It fulfills our curiosity for discovery, offers us the joy of meeting new people, and gives us the pleasure of experiencing wonderful culinary delights. We are happy when we visit ancient places like Rome or Athens and feel connected to history and when we have either a relaxing or an exhilarating experience on a white sandy beach in Cozumel, St Maarten or Sardinia. Travel expands our mind and nourishes our adventurous spirit and puts us in touch with vibrant and unique cultures like the San Blas islands in Panama and the beautiful and breathtaking scenery in Alaska, Hawaii, and Costa Rica.
Cruising is addictive as nothing compares to arriving into a harbor like Villefranche or Venice by sea and watching the beautiful coastline and the European Grandeur gradually come to you. Nothing beats taking in the refreshing air of the sea and the rivers or being gently rocked to sleep by the slightest waves. My first cruise was 30 years ago on the S.S. Norway and since then, and whether for work or pleasure, I have been on over 100 cruises. These voyages to discover the history, colors, aromas, and flavors of the world by ship are essentially part of the journey for us to really discover ourselves. So, go ahead, cruise, thoroughly enjoy, then certainly repeat.
