Spain Food Sherpas was born in Malaga in 2013 at the hands of a small team of local food lovers that wanted to reveal and share the hidden culinary and cultural treasures in the off-the-beaten-path areas of Malaga, Granada and Seville. Since then, they have welcomed more than 20000 happy guests on their tours and cooking classes.
Passionate about gastronomy, traveling and discovering new places, they sought for this type of tourism every time we were on the road. Finally they founded Spain Food Sherpas to offer our guests a new way of getting to know our city- just how they would like to live it themselves.
Stunning local produce and specialized small scale (family) businesses are our pillars, as are traditional recipes and modern fusions- a real reflection of our heritage and community.
Slow food and tourism is something we support with all our heart, because it’s the best way to really (and literally) savor everything a destination has to offer.
Their experiences are in small groups, guided by enthusiastic food sherpas who believe that the local gastronomy is an important part of the city’s history and its lifestyle.
Kay Farrell founded MALAGA BIKE in 2008. Always a commuter cyclist, Kay has also travelled far and wide by bike in various countries over the years. Her first point of contact with any new place is to always take a city bike tour or rent a bike. She truly believes that there is no better way to explore a new city.
In 2008, there were no other bike tour & rental companies in Malaga. With Málaga’s all year round excellent climate, its rich cultural history & its privileged location on the Mediterranean Sea, to start a bike tour company was a ‘no-brainer’ for Kay.
Kay’s experiences with other bike companies around the world have taught her what works and what doesn’t in the bike business world. Naturally, this has impacted the way she runs the business.
MALAGA BIKE’S Goal is to spread Málaga’s WOW factor and convert your cycling experience here into one of the most memorable days of your holiday. They want to see all of their customers leave feeling satisfied and, hopefully, with a smile on their face at the end of the day.
